From the turn of the century, these are still in great shape, solid, and with original patina and finish. The surface could use some refreshing.  The seats pop in for easy replacement of the material to suit your tastes.

This type of side server is usually made of  pine or walnut.  To be truthful it was purchased by us as being of butternut.
To our surpise , it turned out to be in old growth oak.  A real  delight to see, as we have not come across any before, and neither have our many colleagues who have seen it. Their first impression is that it is butternut, until they look closely.

It is in as found condition, needs handles, and some work on pediment. Finish is original brown, alligatored, as found.

This chair has the unusual and rarer back supports.  not the connections left and right, just enough elegance to raise it above the peasant level.
